Partnerships

Partnerships are fundamental to the work of the Bell. Through the partnerships we build with community organizations, we center our work on the people most impacted by public policies in order to improve the quality of our research, identify challenges and potential solutions, and center community voices to make change.

Become a Partner

We’re always looking to broaden our circle. We’d love to hear from you if you think we have a common purpose and the potential to work together to achieve something great.

  • Local or direct-service organizations: If there’s a challenge you’re seeing on the ground that policymakers need to better understand, or if you have ideas for how we can improve public policies or prioritize resources, reach out!
  • Grassroots organizations: If you need facts and figures to support your outreach efforts, or if you need help analyzing and communicating the feedback you’re receiving, let us know!
  • Policy organizations: If you’re working on a policy issue and need help understanding or communicating about the economic mobility implications, let’s have a conversation. We support partner organizations on numerous pieces of legislation every year.

Reach out via our contact form or feel free to email individual staff members directly, and we’ll find a time to discuss options for working together.

Working with the Bell

Since 2020, we have developed 10+ research projects in meaningful collaboration with more than 80 organizations, including state and local nonprofits, local governments, institutions of higher education, and healthcare organizations. Our engagement has allowed us to:

  • Understand diverse community experiences and priorities
  • Develop research and policy guided by these experiences and priorities with communities, creating mutual opportunities for learning and action
  • Elevate community priorities, and when possible, support their advocacy

Examples of our Partnerships

We developed the home care cost model in close partnership with Tri-County Health Network in southwest Colorado and the Colorado Latino Leadership, Advocacy, & Research Organization (CLLARO). Those partnerships ensured that our research accurately reflected the challenges impacting real people, including older adults relying on home care as well as the caring workforce.

The Bell convened a Future of Work and Learning Advisory Council of dozens of stakeholders in Colorado’s postsecondary and workforce development system, from students to state agency leaders to workforce and economic development experts. The Council examined equity barriers in the system and developed recommendations for the Bell’s Actionable Agenda for the Future of Work and Learning, most of which were later adopted by the state’s Equity Champions Coalition.

CHIC (Collaborative Healing Initiative within Communities) and SPIN (Sisterhood of Philanthropists Impacting Needs) worked with the Bell and Social Impact Solutions on a feasibility study for Educational Justice for Black Coloradans. This study led to the Racial Equity Study legislation and the Colorado Black Equity Study being conducted through History Colorado.

Testimonials

“Working with the Bell Policy Center on the caregiver cost model was a valuable and collaborative experience. Their team brought deep expertise and a thoughtful approach that helped us better understand the economic impact of caregiving in our rural communities. We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important work and for the insight it provided to support future planning and advocacy.”

Amy Rowan

“The Bell connects with local leaders and residents from communities across Colorado through outreach events and educational meetings, and also builds strong coalitions to elevate these voices.”

Naomi Amaha
Director of Policy and Government Affairs, The Denver Foundation

“The Bell Policy Center brings a rare blend of policy insight and statewide vision, grounded in what’s really happening in communities across Colorado. As a partner, they listen—to us and to the people we serve—and help ensure those voices shape the policies that matter in their lives. The Bell’s partnership strengthens our work to advance economic mobility where financial resilience is hardest to build and the stakes are highest for those striving to get ahead.”
