MERINO – Buffalo RE-4J School Board is considering a resolution opposing Proposition 101 and Amendments 60 and 61. The board tabled the resolution at their regular meeting on Monday, until they can get some more information on the ballot initiatives.

Superintendent Robert Sanders said the board wanted to wait until after the Colorado Association of School Board's regional meeting in Sterling next week, which they will be attending. Part of the regional meeting will focus on the impact of the three ballot initiatives.

We will, at some point, have a serious discussion about how tax measures are affixed to our state's constitution in a hodge-podge way because Colorado voters really like to vote on tax issues, it is relatively easy to do so here compared with other states, and so we do so often.
