There's still time to register to vote, but do it by Oct. 9
Coloradans have been voting since before Colorado became a state. The first general election in the newly formed territory, in 1861, was to select a delegate to Congress and members of the Territorial Legislature. In that election, 9,597 votes were cast. 151 years later, we still enjoy the privilege of participating in this civic process.
Tuesday, Oct. 9, is the last day to register to vote for the Nov. 6 general election, and we encourage you to register. Voting is vital to a healthy democracy – it gives meaning to "government by the people" – and it is a right too important to waste.
