'In Plain Talk' budget video now available in Spanish
When the Bell Policy Center and ProgressNow Colorado teamed up to produce Colorado's Budget: In Plain Talk, we wanted to spark a conversation about the state budget and our fiscal challenges.
Our goal is to get Coloradans talking about the state budget – and that's all Coloradans. That's why we created a Spanish-language version of the video, El Presupuesto de Colorado: En Terminos Sencillos.
After three years of cutbacks, cutting funds for K-12 and higher education, closing state parks and a prison, more and more people are asking questions about state finances and our fiscal challenges. That's why it is important to start the conversation. After all, in Colorado, it is the voters, not legislators, who make the major decisions about taxes and fiscal policy.
The six-minute video uses broad strokes to paint a picture of how the state gets and spends its money. An accompanying discussion guide will jump-start and help lead conversations.
So, we invite Coloradans to watch El Presupuesto de Colorado: En Terminos Sencillos. Then, let's all start talking.
